Per plan §10, a solicitor-reviewed T&Cs template is recommended before taking live payments — in particular the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 14-day cancellation right for off-premises contracts, and an explicit early-work waiver where the customer wants work to start sooner. The sections below outline what needs to be covered, using placeholder figures that match the current defaults in Settings.
Quotes
Quotes are estimates based on the information and photos provided and are valid for 30 days from the date sent unless otherwise stated. Prices may change if the scope of work changes once work is underway, and any changes will be agreed with you before extra charges apply.
Deposits & payment
A deposit (30% by default, confirmed on your quote) is payable to secure a booking, with the balance due on completion unless agreed otherwise. Payments are processed securely via Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
Your right to cancel
If you accept a quote as a consumer away from our business premises (for example, by approving it online), you may have a legal right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 to cancel within 14 days without giving a reason. If you ask us to begin work within that period, you may be asked to expressly confirm this and to accept that you may lose some or all of the cancellation right once work has started.
Guarantee
Workmanship is guaranteed for a reasonable period after completion — details will be confirmed on your invoice. Materials are covered by their manufacturers' warranties where applicable.
Insurance
Jaeger's Joinery holds public liability insurance. Certificate details are available on request.
